I agree that it is possible to damage nerves with a needle when injecting, but unless the needle actually hit the spinal column, I would think that the damage would affect one leg only, the leg where the injection was given.  An allergic reaction to the medication injected might affect the entire central nervous system and cause paralysis, but it is doubtful the injection itself would do it.  That is a good point to remember, though, when giving an injection.
