Fred,

Thanks for that... not something I had thought about.

More important than lawn treatment around my part of the world is the Christmas Tree Farms that surround us. It is amazing what a chemical load they utilizer to give us all that ideal tree.

I moved my grazing area to the opposite side of my property to avoid the residual mists from their sprays; I probably need to put a perimeter fence into place to act as an additional containment, a barrier from the neighbors dogs, and maybe prevent some deer from giving me as much grief.

All being said, it's hard to keep things rather organic when you live in a chemical dependant world.... amazingly enough, the highest producer of christmas trees in the us (Ashe County) has the nation's highest rate of MS... guess that's something to think about later.

Not that this is a wide spread potential problem but I heard a story last week of a shpherd who brought four sheep to the church for part of an Easter program and the morning following the program, found four dead sheep. Best guess was that an insecticide or herbicide was used by the lawn service and noone thought to mention it. Just a note to keep in mind if your sheep aprticpte in off site programs and "mow the grass".
