Heifer Project passes on a higher percentage of donated dollars than anyone in the charity business.

They also teach the recipients how to care for the animals and ask them to pass on an offspring to someone else in the community.

  Sara, It sounds like a wonderful idea for shepherds to be helping other shepherds. Have you checked out how much of each dollar actually goes to the specific village? In the past, I have found after contacting organizations that only a small portion of my dollar actually made it towards the effort, I was sponsoring. Other times, I have been pleasantly surprised. I now check prior to giving. Just a thought.
