Sadly, it is becoming more and more difficult for farmers to coexist with "other folks"......many, many people move here from urban areas to raise their families in the country ........ and then they complain about the smell of manure, large farm equipment on the roads, fertilizers, etc. ...... and unfortunately these folks are typically very savvy regarding the legal system and litigation.

I worry about the same thing in our area, since the cheap land prices are bringing folks in who are building 300,000+ log 'cabins'. We have universities to the north and a company to the south that just won some major governemnet contracts, so homes/land are starting to move. Anyone buying/building here has to sign forms acknowledging that this is a "rural" area with manure smells, noises, etc. But...I worry about how long it will take before they start complaining about "non-sanitized" country stuff.
