[Jacob-list] flooding

Up here in Vermont, the rains have begun, and we're not supposed to have
quite as much as you guys down south have had, but another 4 inches or so is
possible, and our ground is quite wet already because of lots of rain this
summer, so it means possible flooding. But of course, it will probably NOT
mean anything much, as the weathermen up here seem to be wrong more often
than right. And with the mountains all over the state, what is true for us
here might be very different 10 miles in any direction. We often have 8" of
snow when a town eleven miles east has none, or vice versa. One thing is
certain: this storm is rain, not snow! Still a little early for snow, even
up here. No frost yet this year, but in previous years, I've seen some frost
and flurries by the end of the first week in September!
