I will have to say I have the same experience -- living
in northern Indiana and shearing before lambing -- the
sheep have a large barn area and this year -- for the first
year I did have a couple heat bulbs in the barn area - it
was so cold - I do blanket my sheep to keep wool clean
so I think that helps -- maybe just me more than the
sheep !  but after a few days -- they seem to adjust -
better than when the one year I didn't get them all sheared
just trimmed before lambing - I think wind break and
good bedding help.
