     I usually treat 3 or 4 pelts at a time and the 50lb bag is cheaper
than buying table salt; but then I have never bought 50 lbs of table salt. 
Also, some people think table salt contains the iodine.  Don't know if the
iodine would hurt anything or not, but why take the chance.  I think the
hay salt is cheaper, that's my biggest reason.  But, whatever works for
you..... it's the final product that counts.
