some of the goat supply catalogues have tanning kits
listed.
I tell you Jacob sheep give insomnia! After 4
months we decided to give one ewe a break and help
wean her son who is almost the same size and has huge
horns. he hits her bag with them and I am afraid it
will damage her. I tell you they can keep up calling
almost all night. Even with one in a bomb shelter!
After 2 days it is getting better. The boy is a
wether and he is newly in with the ram. I was told
the ram would not tolerate all the wether's noise, but
in our case the ram just joins in the bawling.
We had no problem adding the wether in with the ram
because they are just on the other side of the fence
since birth and so now the wether is just an inch
closer. I might mention I feed them at opposite ends
of the field so no food disputes.
One more ram story: Robert was fixing up the
second feeding station in the field and did not notice
the ram had come to that side of the field. There was
a fence between them with the 1 inch no climb between
them. The ram backed up and then wham! right into
Robert's face and moved the fence 4 inches to do it. I
think Robert being on his knees working through the
fence looked like a challange? So now Robert's nose
skin is ripped and he has a black eye...quite a blood
show at the time. Then the ram had the nerve to stand
at the low part of the fence and wanted to be petted
on his nose, which Robert does sometimes. Needless to
say he did not get petted that day.
