Any possibilites for pictures of this rug?? I always do so
much better if I can picture what I am trying to do. I think wool rugs
are a great idea. I am in the process of trying to make braided felted
rugs..... I have the idea, but I have not perfected the process.
First I start with a chain stich with a crochet hook using a piece
of thick roving. I have tried braiding the roving, but the chain stich
works better. Then I wash the chain- rope of roving in the washer to
have it felted. I use a flat box and then start creating a braided oval
wrapping and sewing the sides of the rope together (I have not tried a
felting needle at this point, but it might work better). I find it is
really hard to keep it from warping, once I get past the size of a door
mat. So place mates, chair pads work nice.
There is a picture of my first rug on our web site....
www.benjaminfarms.com Just remember it was my first attempt, if you go
to look at it and I would welcome any helpful ideas.
