Hi,

The picture of Dandy is quite similar to a number of my sheep that do
not carry lilac characteristics---based on lots of breedings and
knowledge of their background.  There are some lilac carriers that do
have those eye markings, but these are not the smoke rings or haze
around the eyes that I see in lilacs every time.

Thank you, Tara.  I really just do this because it lets me see the
pictures, too!  

Dan's picture really does show an eye ring well.  Most of the ones I've
had here (and that's not many) have much less obvious rings.  I've
posted a picture of a black and white ram that shows a less obvious

After some discussion with breeders much more knowledgeable about lilac
genetics than I am, I think this may denote that the ram is a lilac
carrier.  His full brother, born this year, is a lilac, so it is
reasonable to assume that Dandy may be a carrier.
