Hi all,

I finally got the box of yarn.

The light is the color of oatmeal, and the striped is VERY stark in the
striping. I absolutely love it!!!!! The dark portions are very dark
brown in color. There are occasional variations in the spinning, but
they aren't so obvious that they really stand out---you have to look for
them.

As I mentioned a week or so back in my post, we sheared 2/20/03 and I
didn't get around to sorting for a couple weeks...and I have yarn back
at my house by 4/7/3! That was fast turn around.

Yarn 14-16 WPI 2-ply sport, 1500-1600 yards/lb, 385 yds/skein (4 oz
skeins). These details were written on each bag of yarn in the box
(shipped off 3 boxes and got one back :o)).

It looks like I wound up with about 7-8 pounds of the light and the rest
of striped.

I am one to hold wool up to my face and "test" it for scratchiness.
That is why I gravitate to merino commercial yarns. I can notice a
slight harshness with the cream, and the striped has none at all. Both
colors would work next to my skin, though, as the level of harshness is
minimal. This also tells a story about the overall nature of fleeces in
my flock----
