Ah, but don't forget that those very people who have no clue about your personal 
wants DO have many years of experience with Jacob Sheep.  These are the people who 
managed to locate and build flocks from animals shattered all over the country.  
These breeders have seen the results of using crossbred animals in a flock and have 
worked to maintain sources of Jacob Sheep with known backgrounds, just so people 
like us can start our flocks knowing the history of our stock.  Many of the current 
Jacob breeders have been involved in raising Jacobs and preserving the breed for 
over 20 years.  Don't register if you don't want to, but don't undervalue the 
opinions of those who have the experience to evaluate the breed as a whole - not 
just as an isolated flock.
