A male farmer friend and I have talked about female cycling and male
behavior for years.  We have noted changes in multiple types of
critters, sheep among them.  That ram would be history at my place,
though.
 
I had to bury a sheep last night.  This one seemed to get depressed when
I moved her buddy away a couple weeks ago and has starved herself since
then.  Won't even be able to get any feel for what went wrong---no vets
come out that I have been able to locate in this area any longer, and
the state lab accepts the animals during 8-5 hours M-F.  Anything else
is noted as an inconvenience and "at the convenience of the breeder".
This makes the 5th animal I have lost in 8 years......drat it all!
