Hello All, I am always eager to read all jacob-list postings, not usually posting any comments; however, I will share our experience in regards tothis subject. Two years ago we had 2 rams and 2 ewes born, we chose to wether the two rams so that we could use them for meat. We were never able to butcher them because they had died, one by one by the next fall. The only surviving lambs that year were the ewes. So as an experiment we decided the next year not to wether any of the rams, to see if they would live or die. Last year we had 4 rams born and 1 ewe. We did not wether any of the rams, they all lived! We butchered two in February and still have the other two. This year we had 3 ewes born and no rams. After losing the wethers that year has now made us gun-shy about wethering our rams. Abigail BrownShiloh FarmPetersburg, IN

Do many of you have much experience with wethers? We just visited my
brother's farm in Va and saw the 4 horned wether we gave him last year. We
have an adult 2horn wether but I had never seen an adult 4horn. Thought I
would share the picture, even though I took better ones with the 35mm.
Have fun to everyone going to the AGM!

sure if the link will go thru, but if you just go to our site and change
the last word to /wether you should be able to see the picture.
