[Jacob-list] primitive traits

In Ingrid's book, Jacob Sheep in America, she has a letter that seems to say that the rounder horns are inherited from Northern European parents and the more triangular horns are from middle-eastern parentage. I don't think I would accuse either of being less/more primitive. What I am very interested in is several references that I have heard to the "Syrian Jacobs", whose wool was apparently used for undergarments. The origins of these guys seems to be rather complex. Does anyone out there have any information on this?

Is it correct that the more primitive Jacobs have flatter horns - the "improved" sheep horns tend to be more rounded, like the Horned Dorset - that has been my understanding. Also, blue eyes - do they appear in the improved flocks?
