[Jacob-list] horn buttons

Here's a dumb question. How do you make horn buttons? When the lambs are
butting heads and break off horns I end up with the outer part of the horn.
But I'm thinking the horn buttons have to come from the part still attached
to the head. So I assume horn buttons are an "end-use" product, harvested
after the death of the sheep when you can cut off the horn.
