Ed,
Your writings have been great and very accurate.  I wish you would print
them and we could give them to all Jacob Breeders.  They are very much
needed.
Some people take exception to culling a breed that we are preserving.
When you raise any animal in a controlled environment, we must do what
nature cannot do.  With the numbers of good Jacob now in this country it
behooves breeders to cull those animals that show either genetic defects
or many very undesirable traits recognized by either Breed Assoc.
This has been our experience and our flock started back  before the
breed associations began. We were fortunate enough to learn from those
who forged the way in the east, Maizie Hescock, Jacque Lasseau and
Susanna Davies.
We were taught well and visibly saw the beginnings in the Northeast..
