Melanie,
Since you are from "way up there" in Canada, I decided to check my breeder list to see if there are any other Canadian breeders listed that you may be close to so that you could get outside bloodlines into your flock. I see Larry Saganski & Phyllis Fisher of Spencerville, Ont., and Stanley Park Children's Farm Yard in Vancouver BC. I don't know if they could be of help to you or not.
If you breed your ram to his mother, sister, or daughter, I hope you do not end up with swayback, cleft palate, "elf toes", parrot mouth, or other deformities. Since we do not practice inbreeding with our sheep, I cannot say with certainty that these deformities are a result of inbreeding, but I do know that they can happen. Fred Horak has studied inbreeding coefficients, so perhaps he could shed some light upon this subject.
