[Jacob-list] Walk in the rain ...

I fed the animals this morning and looked in the dishes, about 2 inches!
Not baaaahd for 12 hours. Someone said after the last rain that her
sheep looked relieved, mine just look like wet dirty mops!

I suspected that the rain would have swelled the creek on the other side
of the property. I left the chows at the house, at an average of 40 lbs
a piece, all muscle; linking them together with the harness and walking
them down the hill to the stream did not seem like a good idea. If I had
I suspected I would have been drug by them over the rocks, through the
mud to the stream. Just did not feel up to that this morning. However
the kitten did tag along.

The stream had not swelled as much as I expected, I guess the ground
soaked up most of the water. Suits me just fine. The rye I cast over the
trail was hanging in there. At $10/25lb bag it seemed reasonable to hold
the trail dirt. (The neighbor seemed surprised to see it growing last
weekend. I told him it was rye and he was going to cast fescue over the
trail. at $80/50lb bag he is welcome to cast all he wants! ((Community
Trail, part is on my property...)))

I was going to water on Wednesday, but missed it. I agree with Neil, 2-3
inches every Friday night would be fine with me too! Just keep the rain
coming and the mild weather. Spring will be the big push for clearing
away some more forest and building the basement! I am looking forward to
getting some more pasture!

(I only have 4 jacobs at the moment, I don't think they will reproduce
very quickly. I may have to get some Romanov's so I can try (keep up
with) all these great recipies posted on the list!) 7;-)
