Recently had a lamb die at birth - found the little guy on the straw,
totally encased in his fluid filled sac - don't know if he struggled to
break free or not.  However, a friend mentioned that high nutrition by
graining before delivery can lead to a tough amniotic sac......Just
curious to know what list members know about this.  We do grain the last
4-5 wks. of gestation, and this particular ewe was very late to lamb, so
she actually had a longer time of receiving grain.  This particular lamb
was normal in every way to visual inspection and I am now wondering if he
struggled but simply could not break free.  What do you know about this?
