[Jacob-list] Horns to Slough?

Today while I and a fellow shepherd were examining a very large nicely marked
12 week old 4-horn Jacob ram lamb, we discovered that his side horns are
loose and you can see lines of separation at the base. I'm guessing that the
blood supply to the two side horns has been sufficiently diminished by the
two top horns (which touch the side horns at the base) that the two side
horns are going to slough off?
Given that this is an apparently gradual process should I still expect to see
alot of blood when they do slough? Naturally this unfortunate animal is
going to the processor very soon, but if an animal like this were kept around
would the side horns try to re-grow? and to what extent? Thanks, Elaina
