I use the rubbermaid heaters that fit in the drain hole on the small 100
gallon tanks, and love them. Does not seem to be a problem, but they are
grounded in a 3 prong plug. As a matter of fact the animals seem to be
drinking more water than when I didn't have the heaters, which I think is
good. It has been cold enough here, that the water is frozen over 30 minutes
after I chop. The heaters have saved me hours of work. My neighbor used
one of those plug in buckets and was very happy with it.
