Humans upset nature whenever they start MANAGING....from forest to animals
to plants.  Look to wilderness and introduced weeds, animal breeds of all
kinds, even hunted wild animals by taking out the biggest and best males for
trophy heads.  People tend towards PROFIT and AWARDS.

Having some people recognize that and to at least attempt NOT to 'improve'
the breed certainly warms my heart.  Meanwhile I'm culling pretty much in
ignorance...try to get at least decent horns, patterns and fleece.  But with
four ewes I don't feel I'm much of a preservationist...probably a hobbiest
would suit best.

Ed is the person I most respect for preserving....cull some but run the rest
together and let the chips fall as they will.  At least that is what I have
gathered from his posts.  Most of us don't/can't approach that for
preservation.
