>Mary Ellen brought me the neatest Shepard's Crook [I think that is what you
call it] - the top part being a bent sheep horn on a staff. Never seen
anything like it before. She came by the house two weeks ago with Patrice
to pick up the last and hopefully the best, of my primitive stock. All the
rest went to Bill Jones several years ago - Hescock, Leaseau, and other
English types.

>I think there were 25 in all - about 6 ewes that were as nice as I have
ever had - and some really nice ewe lambs. They only stipulation I made to
Patrice was that she had to go to Vivian Moran's in Frankfort, Ky and add
at least 2 or 3 more ewes - then she should have the best of the best in my
opinion. Someone has to keep this more primitive, non-commercial type of
Jacobs going and I really have a lot of faith in her decision to do so. You
have to get by the perfect looks and realise that these are how they were 20
plus years ago before perfect spotting, wool, horn type, etc became SO
IMPORTANT to so many people. Now I want Luther to find her a nice old type
ram to go with the one she got from me. If any of you live in North Ga go
by and see what she ended up with.
