DENVER - If you are having trouble finding small amounts of wool or a
wool-related specialty product or service, you may want to check out a new
section of web site of the American Sheep Industry Association's (ASI) Wool
Council. The new niche marketer section of the Web site lists suppliers of
such products and items.

The niche marketer site is in response to the many requests ASI receives for
small amounts of wool and wool specialty products and for specific types of
services. The site lists suppliers of such products as raw, scoured and
combed wool, yarns, fabrics, sweaters, blankets, batting, mulch and
sheepskin products. It also lists companies providing services such as
scouring, combing, felting and dyeing.

"This site is a service we are offering to niche marketers," said Rita
Kourlis Samuelson, American Wool Council international wool/pelt marketing
director. "The Internet is a great way to market products produced in small
volumes." 

The niche marketer site also allows potential customers a one-stop shopping
spot for such specialty items. The site allows customers to sort by product
type, services or company name. Company information includes products or
services available and contact information, including a direct link to those
companies that have their own Web sites.

To access the niche marketing information, go to the American Wool Council's
Web site at www.americanwool.org and click on resources. The information
also may be accessed from ASI's Web site at www.sheepusa.org. Click on
marketplace and then industry resources from the ASI site.
