[Jacob-list] Jacobs that hold their black

Hi,

I have been told, and do tend to see a higher correlation of this as well,
that Jacob sheep that hold their black better are the same ones that have
coarser wool. I don't know if this correlates better to a "handle" of the
wool or if it correlates better to the actual micron count of the wool.
There just isn't much information out there on that yet.

Edie---I know Wayne has been scouring the various flocks for animals that
retain their black better. Have you found any relationships? I see some
pretty dark animals in the NW in pictures, but don't know if it is related
to fewer sunny days (thus the animals would look much different in NC), or
if they are truly different.

I have a group of Jacobs loaded to head off to MD in another week now. They
are actually loaded to visit the vet for their health certificates---won't
stay onboard that long! Some are travelling all the way to California! I
am shocked and amazed that at this point in the year, I have 2 Jacob sheep
left for sale POTENTIALLY here. Shetlands have not sold that well, and I
have a number of them unpaid for yet. This does make me wonder why I have
been blessed with the early sales and animals leaving----maybe means I don't
need to be taking care of so many animals/juggling them around in the months
ahead. Everything seems to work to a purpose---just keeps me guessing as to
what purpose it is most of the time.
