McCain is going to win easily. But he's a tough
old bird and will last the 4 years (maybe). 

If he retires in 2012, Palin will run and lose
to a Dem.

Palin communicates straight to the 
subconscious of the great American electorate. 
This is Archie Bunker land. Mencken used to 
go on and on about the boobitude of Joe and Mary
Sixpack and that was in the 20s under Hoover 
and Coolidge. So it was and so it will ever be.

How clever of McCain and his advisors to pick
her!

We are now living in the early years of
the long goingdown  of the American Empire
which finds itself engaged in endless unwinable
wars much like the Roman Empire. The latter
empire took a long time to tumble so at our age we
have the good luck to be at the beginning of
the untergang of the empire we lived our life
in.
