Carolyn,
We've seen Goodbye to Lenin and agree with your thumbs up.
The hero's mother, a staunch East German communist, wakes
up after an illness and her son arranges things so that she wont
know that the Berlin Wall has fallen and East Germany is history.
We will be on the lookout for Schultze gets the Blues.
Films we watched at home this week: Max with John Cusak
playing a Jewish art dealer who has lost an arm in WW I
and takes an interest in the art of Corporal Adolf Hitler who
is being prepped by the army to go into politics and make use
of his speechifying gift. I recommend it strongly.
The other, last night, The Contender with Jeff Bridges playing
a Clinton-like US president who nominates a woman to replace
the Vice President who has just died. Silly but well acted. Gary
Oldman as the evil chairman of the confirming committee is
excellent.
