[AGL] Fwd: Texas: Stop Shoot First Shooter in his tire tracks...

The pigs who come on my place are javelinas. Skulls of a few who came at the
wrong time adorn my patio. Only yesterday the whole herd was digging in my
compost zone, little piggies and all. Unfortunately the fled into the tall
grass and I couldn't get a clean shot on them, but I fired a couple just to
get some respect, as Jon calls it.

The skunks and ground squirrels get the cat food. A couple of skunks per
year (minimum) don't live to breed another litter. As for the squirrels I
haven't had much luck with a resident intruder, but you can bet that sooner
or later it (they?) will get careless...

I will admit that while I enjoy making a good shot, I do not enjoy the
killing...unusual conflict. But resident varmints take a sizeable toll on
one's resources, sooner or later. As for the pigs, they have destroyed two
gardens and receive no mercy.

I use a .22. Also have a Sheridan Air Rifle which is far less powerful but
enough to kill small varmints.

Jon, you could get one of those air pistols that shoot paint balls. Some
have a laser sight, hard to miss. While the pistol won't kill the 'coons, it
will sting and stain them, thus gaining you some respect. Also, they look so
real you could scare the hell out of an intruder with one.
