  I came across a company that makes counted cross stitch patterns of any photo you want to render as a cross stitch or needlepoint. I dreamed up such a service years ago and finally someone has computerized it. The company is in Oregon and the web site is www.heirloomstitching.com

  It's held here in Houston, kind of situated all over town - mostly around downtown and Museum District; Heights and Montrose.  It is a world class art event. The fotofest2006 themes are

  Don't cost anything to go see any of it, except maybe feeding the parking meter in some cases.
