coincidentally my roommate and i today
both got mail from our respective high school
alumni offices.

i had no idear how prestigious my high
school was. yes, I knew about fellow graduate
Irwin Shaw the author, I knew about Judith 
Coplan the spy for the Soviets, i knew 
about Sylvia Kaye, Danny Kaye's wife. 

but i never knew Martin Cohen-Gilbert, '27
who died on June 10, 2003 in Phoenix, AZ.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, 3 sons,
4 daughters, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-
grandchildren. Starting in 1931, he built a
70 year career in business as a manager,
entrepreneur, teacher and mentor. At age
89, he authored a book, "Developing Your
Second Line of Defense" (a contingency
plan for living and thriving).
