Connie,
All 16 of the photos at the Temple site are from the Aperture
monograph series on Diane Arbus. Great book to pull off
the shelf when the subject of Diane Arbus comes up.
The photos she took at a sex club she visited and,
it is said, participated in have never been published
but are apparently available for purchase from her
estate. Her daughter, Dawn Arbus, was for a long time
a staff photographer at the Village Voice. Her photos
however have nothing of the art of her mother.
Diane Arbus and her one time husband Alan had a
fashion photography studio together until he tired of it
and her and split the marriage to take up acting in TV
and movies.
You will remember him from Robert Downing's
Greaser's Palace in which he played Jesus in
the desert trekking off to Hollywood.
Do tell us if there are any photos at the Houston
show which are not in the Aperture book.
Mike
