I remember that in about 1966 in a copy of Ramparts, an article on the =
Viet Nam War suggested that the reason the president from Texas (LBJ) =
had stepped up the war in Viet Nam was to get his longtime supporters, =
Brown and Root, a big construction contract to build the Cam Ranh Bay =
Navy facility (a billion dollar project). At that time B&R had built =
numerous US military facilities in the Far East and had lots of =
equipment over there gathering dust.

Brown and Root is now a part of Haliburton. They haven't had any billion =
dollar defense department construction contracts for some time. They do =
have a fat contract with the army to take care of American troops =
overseas (currently in 103 countries globally). They install concessions =
like Kentucky Fried Chicken on US bases to help boost the morale of the =
troops.

The Pax Americana scenario scripted by Dick Cheney, former President of =
Haliburton, when he was running the Hertiage Foundation Think Tank =
(early 90's) calls for a huge American base somewhere in the Middle =
East, from which the US can control the infidels in that part of the =
world.

Iraq is where the base will be built. Who do you suppose will get the =
contract to build it?

Yes, and Red Adair and the boys will get some fat contracts to put out =
the oil field fires which Sadam will most certainly set off, and the =
rebuilding of the Iraqi oil complex will give plenty of more business to =
Haliburton whose specialty is oil field services, and the current =
president from Texas will ultimately send more federal money into =
Houston than you can imagine.=20

They have the remaining almost 2 years of the Bush Administration to get =
this done. Never mind that Bush will probably not get reelected, the =
contracts will all be in place and the cash will flow, the deficit will =
grow.

That's what it's all about, folks. Pax Americana, Chapter One. Christian =
Right Wing paranoia about the infidels=3Dmore cash into the various =
Haliburton divisions. "Stability" in the Middle East=3Duninterupted oil =
flow to the American pumps. All the rest, including all the Sadam =
scenario is bullshit, a smokescreen. FOLLOW THE MONEY. =20
