Peggy, oh man, Peggy's gone? Peggy was real, always, no fluff, no jive, no
social posturing, just a sharp intellect and huge heart. Peggy exemplified
the combination of toughness and maternal instinct that make Texas women
special. She had true grit. She could drink and argue effectively with the
men without losing her femininity. Once she was your pal, it was permanent
and she would patiently listen to your troubles without patronizing you
which made her advice especially valuable. Lawyering was just a hobby with
Peggy, not the way she made a living. She specialized in lost, seemingly
hopeless causes that most lawyers wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. I knew
her for over 30 years and loved her more with each passing decade. Wish I
could talk to her one more time...
Gerry
