jon's comment seems so rational and accurate. thanks, jon.
i was horrified yesterday to hear some republican comment that 9.11
"disrupted our transportation system." indeed!
i don't know if any of the cities you guys are in are under seige. i would be
curious to know if daily life is being disrupted.
we heard yesterday that processing machines in the main post office have been
tainted w/anthrax. my deliverer was wearing gloves. today they have shut
several postal facilities.
the smell flairs up at levels of debris being lifted let in oxygen to ignite
new blazes. i still have not had the heart to go to ground zero.
wednesday as i was talking to someone on the street on my way home there were
a slew of fire trucks passing, some from brooklyn so it was obvious something
serious happened. i felt guilt to feel relief that it was ONLY a scaffolding
collapse w/26 injured and 2 killed, not another terrorist attack.
oddly, most of my friend and even acquaintances stop to express joy at seeing
each other alive. people touch each other to be sure. it is, as the curse
promised "an interesting time."
yesterday i learned the new high five: hitting fists instead of slapping
palms. advised it means "peace." was also shot the peace sign, which i have
been doing w/regularity for some time, almost as a reflex.

peace & luv,
sc
loving gotham more than ever
