Hey Matt,
Yes ... this is an old problem that crops up every now and then ... Argus doesn't stop, usually one of the ra* clients generates a record that has a problem with one of its data elements, but the complete record should be good and the file is readable, generally ... How are you generating the file ?? Directly through argus or using radium or another ra* program ???
the current client software exits when it sees this error, but it doesn't have to stop, as the rest of the stream/file is readable, just the sub-record is corrupt.
there are many techniques to jump past a corrupt record, as all the ra* programs can start reading from a byte offset rather than a record at a time ... finding the offset is not hard as a calculated offset is in each record ...
The new code that is available, 3.0.8.3, could / should fix this issue, as it has some error correction built in , but you never know. If you can share one of the bad files, I'd be happy to check it out ...
