Gentle people,
Ok, so there are a lot of things in "p" trying to
get the final push on server features, so please
do swap out servers in your testing.
I did a lot on ragator, based on previous mail,
and I have added a few features. I guess its time
to write some documentation on ragator() as it really
is quite powerful.
A new client rasrvstats(), which should replace
radnstats() in the distribution, is there but it is
in its infancy, so .... It is best used with the -H
option (a kind of histogram report), but the output
is pretty raw right now. To test, run this to get
DNS performance, as an example:
rasrvstats -HRnr bigfile - udp and port 53
That will give you transaction response times, but
it will give you a time distribution rather than
just means. So you'll get multiple client reports,
but each one has different scales of response times.
It also works well for pings, anything that it is
one packet in and one out, but also does well with
any traffic, really. I believe that this is incredibly
important for service baselining, so I'll have some
better output for rasrvstats() by release time.

Please test often ;o)
Thanks,
Carter
