Dear retro-friends,
I wrote one short paper on ortho-reconstruction
problems and related genres; it is available to download on the links at the end of this message.
An ortho-reconstruction
is a problem where you are asked to play forward from a given position
so that you reach the same position, but with the other side on the
move; this may seem easy at first, but in reality there are quite
complex ortho-reconstructions (a shortest solution of 343 single moves
sure counts as complex, doesn't it?). Besides, the genre is not only
interesting "for its own sake" - but more about this in the paper.

Nikolai
