Just a nervous owner.

Hot day , hot engine , low idle , equals a very low reading .

If you must spend money , have your mechanic put
his shop gauge on it.

  Oil pressure is the resistance flow. If the oil pressure is low, the oil viscosity may be low due to high temperature, there may be excessive bearing wear (low flow resistance), or a leak (again low flow resistance). The pressure relief  valve may also be defective or stuck (again low flow resistance). Or the oil pump may be worn or leaking.
