Rick , it is not so diffecult. You must remove your radio, so then one
step further is to remove the tunnel console. Put the cable under the
tunnel console and lead it under the carpet to the backseat. You must
unscrew the wooden console o backseat. Unscrew the left driver side of
the black velvet cover plate that's covered the backrest. On the side
there is a space between the gasoline tank and the sideboard. You can
use 2.5 mm electrical cupper wire to put it between.
You must remove first the clothing in the trunk.
There is also a possibility like told before to lead it true the
soft-top compartment, but then you go true the wet area and that is not
necessary, you have then 2 time's water fighting problems.

Good luck.

Jan the moved Dutchmen.
First mail from his bungalow.

I recently had a problem with the radio in my SL500, the details of this
issue are not relevant to your question. The solution was: It was the
cable between he ariel and the radio which had the fault and my tame
radio/telephone guy (Radio Bob , if in London or nearish he's highly
recommended and comes to you) took no more than an hour to thread a new
cable through, as I remember this involves removing the rear seat,
having the hood half raised, some carpet trim in the front passenger
footwell, some boot carpet, etc but all quite simple if you know how
it's done and replaced without problem. Cost of labour and cable £60.
Good luck.

Dear SL fans,

I have to exchange my CD charger that is mounted in the boot of my
SL320.
This implies that I have to remove the old cable and replace it with a
new one.

Does anyone has advice on how to demount the parts from the dashboard
to the boot to get the old cable out and the new cable in?

Sorry for this broadcast, but I don't know how to put a thread in the
archive.

I wish you and your relatives a Happy, Healthy and Succesful 2008!

Best regards,

Egon

Egon, is there any chance that you can use the
existing wiring and just change connectors? I found
that the SL is sealed up pretty tughtly.

Hello Rick,

That would imply that I need to buy a new Kenwood set.
The 13 pin connectors only seem to work with the Kenwood set.

I just received back my Becker Mexico and Silverstone CD charger. In
principle I would like to have that installed.

Thank you for your raction!

Best regards,
Egon
