Peter Cowie.
Your mechanic has say the first time the right thing.
You must operate the wiper till it is the upright position and the turn off
the ignition key.
Pull off the plastic cover on the wiper and now the whole arm is out of the
wiperbody.
Lubricate now the chroom wiperarm.

When the arm is not lubricated, and it will turn itselfs clamped in dust,
the motor wil stop and take some amps of current . On that moment the
voltage will dropp and CAN give your mentioned problems.

Greg,
Strange that the vents are changing, then you must have a full automatic
climat control.
The only time this will change is when you choose for quick removing off fog
on the inside windshield . So maybe you must look in that direction. Then
when the airco is shutting down it is normal that you can hear the relai is
working. When the airco comes up because the temperature is going up, the
compressor must do a hard time of labor, and will let the engine rpm slow
down. That is normal, but at the same time the A/C electronic sends a pulse
to the engine electronic to higher the stationair rpm. So you notice this as
an short interval of the engine rpm. If the signal is not send to the engine
electronic , and you stationary rpm is low, say 4000 rpm, your engine can
die.
Starting again is offcourse no problem

Dave: When i have time i will look into the ADS manual, maybe I can find
something, maybe not.
My car has no ADS, but for sure i know that after some years the cable's
which are going down for
A: thickness of barakepads
B: sensor off driving for ABS
C: control off ADS
Become broken in the lower part where they are clipped on the front
shockabsorbers.
Mine cable's ware gone, everytime when i stopped for a traffic light, the
ABS come in for the last 50 inches. Very nasty. When normal driving. no
problem.
When braking , the nose off the car is coming down , esspacely at the end
off the track, so the cable's been folding a bit. On that moment the cupper
wire inside will reject contact, so the ABS conrolunit did not receive a
signal anymore and is thinking one wheel is blocked, so the ABS come's up.
After replacing the cables myself, the problem was solved. The you must know
that maybe the same problem is in your car. You can mesure the cable's with
a resistance mesure equipment. It should be 2 ohm or less. For the 129 they
ask a lot off money, even in the second hand part shop, but nice to know is
that the cable's for the W124 S class are the same, only with an other clip
on the shockabsorbers. But if you cable's are broken, you can cut the clip
on one place where it is around the cable and take it off the old cable's ,
clipping on the W 124 one's . MAke the cut as close as possible on the clip
side.

Deneal:

IT is depending on what program you got, the MB USA original burned on dvd
needs the dvd in the drive. I tried to let it go on the harddisk. It wil
work on the harddisk, but you have no plugin, so you cannot open the PDF
file's. They are password protected. If you know the password it is also ok,
but it is for me not done in to figure this out. May be if some real
computer neard looks to the files ha can make a solution for working on the
Hdd without the passwords or the plug in.
For sure , if you use the dvd drive, our official dvd is working.

Jan .
