[R129 SL] reluctant reverse

The auto box on my 1992 300SL24 is fine except that reverse has been slow to engage for some time. MB dealership replaced fluid and filters but said it was 'lack of use' as the car had been laid up for six months last year. Now it refuses to engage at all!  Anyone had similar problems?
