[R129 SL] Harmonic damper

Has anyone had to replace a harmonic damper?  My 99 SL500 started running a little rough, then began making noise, and I immediately took it to the mechanic, who said it was the harmonic damper (sounds like yoga).  Just wondering what kind of bill I should expect generally...
