Thanks!  I have the same problem here - the young kids in their Mustangs & Camaros think they can out drive my 500SL!  The Porsches keep up though  Darn nice cars.  I don't get any smoke, though - may want ot do a tune-up nonetheless. Greetings from here as well, in sunny So. California.

  That's in the beginning strange. . I do not care if the engine takes more fuel, But I want to know if its normal or should

  I need an tuning of he engine. When I put down the pedal, nobody  excepts a Porsche 911 can  follow me.

  So that's an SL 500.  My son tells me, when he drove behind me, the car begins to smell and then its like jet plane.

  Some little white smoke comes out off the muffler, and gone is the car.

  I have a friend with a 300 SL , when he tries to follow, the fuel consumption is at least the same, but not the results.

  So, I am happy with it,
