The guy at Chelsea Classic Cars in Wandsworth once told me to beware of
faulty/bad earth connections with the R129. These can cause the sort of
weird effects you are experiencing.

Sorry I can’t be more help with the location of where the fault could be.

All R129 owners can any body help me.
I have had my SL320 diagnosed by mercedes with no joy.
The roll bar warning light stays on all the time and the roll bar switch
flashes
when roll bar is down and goes out when roll bar is up. Also the windows
intermittently stop lowering when you open the door.
I have Tried synchronization with no luck.
If any body can help or email a diagram of where the control modules
are located that would be great
