One often sees the R129 air pump for sale on the German e-Bay site which
would probably solve your problems but as was said earlier, check that
all electrical connections incl. earth, are well connected.  

If you have a smattering of German, it can be fun going to the Auto
section and then putting R129 into the search box. There are lots of
accessories available.

Does anyone have any experience with the M-B USA CD-ROM covering service
of the R129. I tried to order one but was politely told that M-B USA
does not deal with overseas customers. I told the girl I spoke to that,
fortunately for her job prospects, M-B Germany did not have the same
policy !!! I have a U.S. bank account and credit card so I don't see
what is the problem.

Have same problem with my 1990 300SL - works for a while then stops.

I can tell you NOT to take it to San Diego MB dealership - they charged
my hundreds of dollars on two different occasions - and it still does
not work.

Hello All! I have a 1997 500sl Sport and am having problems with my
central locking system. The door and trunk locks only works by using the
key. The entire central locking system is dead. If i try to use the
remote or cabin switch they do not open. However two days ago they
started working for about one hour but now they are dead again. The
alarm still works using the remote, but that's all. Also the air pillows
in the drivers seat also are dead. Any ideas what the problem can be? By
the way we have had quite a cold spell this last week with temps around
0. Joys of living in the Chicago area.
