Have same problem with my 1990 300SL - works for a while then stops.
I can tell you NOT to take it to San Diego MB dealership - they charged =
my hundreds of dollars on two different occasions - and it still does =
not work.

Hello All! I have a 1997 500sl Sport and am having problems with my =
central locking system. The door and trunk locks only works by using the =
key. The entire central locking system is dead. If i try to use the =
remote or cabin switch they do not open. However two days ago they =
started working for about one hour but now they are dead again. The =
alarm still works using the remote, but that's all. Also the air pillows =
in the drivers seat also are dead. Any ideas what the problem can be? By =
the way we have had quite a cold spell this last week with temps around =
0. Joys of living in the Chicago area.
