[R129 SL] CUPHOLDERS

I asked my dealer about precisely this for my 91 500sl. I was told the
cassette holder can't be swapped for the cupholder as the parts aren't sold
that way. I could replace virtually the entire center console, at hideous
cost. Does anybody know a source for just the inserts to swap the cassette
tray (useless) for the standard cupholders?

does anyone know of an after market cupholder for a 95 sl500? can the
cassette storage unit be swapped out for a cupholder from a 
newer model?
