[R129 SL] Off Topic: Alternative fun car?

Off Topic - but automotive content/questions/puzzle.

What I'd like:
2 seater (or 2+2) non turbo sports/sporty 2 door car (no ///M3, "sports
sedans" etc.) RWD or AWD, manual transmission, not something you see every
day, (well, this is a remote part of AZ, so even 911s are somewhat rare,
just not something like a Miata or Corvette, I guess), parts are still
available, and relatively inexpensive (at least compared to Ferraris)

Before I get inundated with S2000 or MR Spider or BMW Z3, or Boxster, it
has to be in the neighborhood of around $20k (more or less).  I was on the
Datsun roadster list for a while, thinking of a '67 Datsun 2000 (SRL311)
but then I found out about parts (mostly engine related) unavailability and
expense, so I dropped off the list.  I don't need 2 cars that are a
financial burden, no matter how much fun they might be to drive.  Also, car
needs to be relatively quick, say, 0-60 in less than 8 seconds, the faster
the better, of course.  But, gas mileage should be in the high teens at
least.  Camaro, SLP, Firehawk, not "unusual" or "special" or "unique"
enough, sorry.  Might consider special Mustangs, (Roush, others?) but think
they might be over pricing point.  Any ideas out there?  Please respond
privately so we don't waste R129 list bandwidth.
