"Hello List,

I am currently looking to purchase a 500 or 600 series SL. I'm looking
at years 96-98. Any thought, info or general ideas regarding this
series and model years would be Greatly appriciated."

I would not discourage anyone from buying an SL, but I would not
recommend a 600. All SL's can be tough on the pocketbook when out of
warranty, but a 600SL can have a catastrophic impact on one's finances
if not under warranty.
